Strategic integrated planning for offshore wind
The NCEA contributed to a workshop on environmental assessment for offshore wind in Bogotá, Colombia.
Wind and solar power will become a considerable part of the future energy fuel mix in many countries. Wind and solar farms require substantial areas of land or sea, which might conflict with other usage of these areas. SEA can support governments with land use planning at a national, as well as sub-national, and local scale to find the most suitable locations. At sea, SEA can support marine spatial planning, to find the best co-existence between different sectors such as shipping lanes, natural areas and fisheries.
The Ministry of Environment requested the NCEA to review the ESIA of the Lebanon Wind Power project.
