Priorities for strengthening ESIA in the water sector - Egypt Cairo During a 3-day period, a diverse group of stakeholders in the ESIA process - ministerial departments & academia - discussed the strengths and challenges of the ESIA Regulation and Practice for the water sector. After attending this ESY Mapping workshop, the participants had a good understanding of what works well and what needs improvement. For example, there is a need for development of guidelines and strengthening of specific ESIA capacities. These outcomes serve as input for our future cooperation programme.
