ECOWAS: Steps towards regional regulation of ESIA and SEA
Great news: during the ECOWAS meeting of May 16 – 18 in Guinée-Bissau, the Council of Environmental Ministers adopted the regional regulation of environmental and social assessment. The regulation aims to harmonise national environmental assessment procedures among member states. Read more about this initiative:

National workshop to prepare SESA legislation in Bangladesh
Bangladesh is well on its way to preparing SESA legislation. SESA stands for Strategic Environmental and Social Assessment. This termoniology is sometimes used to to emphasise that social aspects, such as health, safety and social wellbeing, are part of Strategic Environmental Assessment.
