335-i. Review: environmental monitoring plan for island reconstruction - Maldives

The NCEA issued an advice of the secretariat in which it assessed the extent to which its previous comments on the EIA for land reclamation on Viligili island have been incorporated in the Environmental Monitoring Plan for the same project.

The NCEA has previously reviewed the quality of the EIA report for land reclamation on Viligili island. Following its advice, the NCEA received the Environmental Monitoring Plan (EMP) for this project, with the request to review whether or not its previous comments had been sufficiently incorporated in this plan.

To fulfil this request, the NCEA issued an advice of the secretariat. It concluded that the monitoring as proposed in this EMP fulfills the NCEA's previous recommendations.
