As in the previous MOU, work will continue on the following topics:

  • The regulatory legal framework on Environmental Assessment;
  • Monitoring the Niger national environmental assessment system through the establishment of a database;
  • The quality of SEAs/ESIAs through independent assessments and coaching;
  • Professional exchange;
  • Strengthening the organizational and individual capacities of the BNEE.

A long-term work plan has been established, which sets out intentions regarding the frequency and contents of activities to be organized. In addition, there is the long-term involvement in the SEA for the Vallee du Niger Programme, aimed at strengthening SEA procedures in Niger. Given the current geo-political context of Niger, planning will be adapted on a regular basis.
