The Tigray Environmental Protection and Climate Change Authority (TEPCCA) is aiming at undertaking a post conflict environmental recovery plan. Tigray experienced severe environmental degradation due to the armed conflict of 2020 - 2022. TEPCCA believes that unless the environmental damage is well studied, planned and aligned with SEA, other sustainable tools could be impractical. To improve the environmental quality, they emphasize the need to strengthen their ESIA/SEA system and reform existing decrees. NCEA’s support is therefore requested to apply a train the trainers approach focusing on SEA and environmental policy development.
