Coaching SESA Urban Transport - Benin

The Agence béninois pour l'environnement (ABE) requested the NCEA to provide strategic and technical support to the development of a Strategic Environmental and Social Assessent (SESA) for the urban transport sector. The NCEAs support will include training, inputs on ToR and other documents, advice on the governance of the SESA, and any other activity necessary for its succesful implementation. 

Significant details

The NCEA has proposed to start with an initiation phase, which will include working sessions on the governance of the SESA, a workshop for interested parties, and other exploratory activities. 

The lessons from the Lac Nokoué SESA, which was concluded in 2023, will be applied to this process in order to further anchor SESA practice in Benin.
