Training for the staff of the Senegal-river organisations (OMVS)

2 December 2020

The river Senegal crosses 4 countries and is an important source for irrigation, food-sypply, electricity etc. Understandably, its sustainable management is of utmost important. The OMVS - established in 1972 - is the managing authority of the river. Currently the OMVS is involved in the SEA for the Koukoutamba Dam in Guinea. To understand the why and how of SEA, the NCEA provided a distant introductory training for about 10 staff. This training also marks the start of our recently started cooperation programme with the OMVS.
