The SEA for joint land use planning emphasises cooperation - The Philippines

Local governments and stakeholders of District 1 of Zamboanga del Norte came together to mark the publication of the SEA report for their land use planning. The SEA was facilitated by the SRJS programme and supported by the NCEA. 

The SEA shows that for sustainable development, joint planning and cooperation is crucial for issues such as agricultural development, climate change, waste management, transport and water management. 

At the same meeting, the local governments and stakeholders signed a Memorandum of Understanding to emphasise their commitment to integrate the SEA findings into their land use plans. The NCEA is looking forward to support this process where needed, endorsed by the Dutch Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
