SEA introduction workshop - Cambodia

9 March 2020

Phnom Penh, 9-13 March - In cooperation with IUCN-NL, the NCEA hosted an introduction workshop on Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for stakeholders in the Mekong Flooded Forest Landscape in Cambodia. The participants consisted of employees of regional authorities and NGOs. With the presented SEA cases - for example on land use planning - participants discussed if and how SEA could contribute to strategic planning at the regional level. This is important, because if the current draft Environmental and Natural Resource Code will be accepted, SEA will become obligatory in Cambodia and will possibly also be relevant for regional planning. The workshop is part of the successful Shared Resources Joint Solutions Programme.
