Rwanda adopted new Environmental Law

18 October 2018

October, Kigali, Rwanda – Rwanda adopted its new Environment Law this August, which paves the way for a revision of Ministerial Orders on EIA and SEA. The Ministry of Environment asked for the NCEA's input on those legal texts. The new law will bring SEA higher on the government’s agenda, and the Rwanda Environment Management Authority will be tasked to mainstream SEA across sectors and ensure quality of its application. To prepare for these tasks, REMA asked for cooperation with the NCEA on SEA.
