Yumika Yamada, a Japanese national, joined the NCEA as a freelance Sustainability Consultant in June. She previously worked for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) for six years in Paris as a Policy Analyst for infrastructure development. Prior to the OECD, she spent 13 years in London working for Moody’s Investors Service (formerly Vigeo Eiris), a global ESG rating agency. At the NCEA, she is passionate about building experience on improving the quality of SEA and ESIA as well as Monitoring & Evaluation. Currently, Yumika also works as an ESG strategic consultant. She has an MSc in Environment and Sustainable Development from UCL and a BSc in Chemistry from Tokyo University of Science.
Among other things, Yumika will be involved in the Sustainability Analysis programme of the NCEA. She will support phase two of the analysis about critical minerals governance in the global energy transition as well as help to explore possibilities for the next sustainability analysis.
