SEA & IWRM in Burkina Faso

Together with Blue Deal partners, the NCEA organised a 4-day training in Burkina Faso about Integrated Water Resources Management and SEA. Burkinabe water boards are currently developing a manual for river basin plans. SEA is not only a legal requirement for such plans but also provides added value.

SEA & IWRM in Ghana

As part of the Blue Deal programme, Dutch Waterboards support the Ghanese Water Resources Commission with the implementation of Integrated Water Resource Management Plans. During a recent visit to Ghana, the Waterboards, Water Resources Commission, the EPA and the NCEA, explored how to align SEA and IWRM activities and create win-win situations.

Activities for the integrated development plan for the Sankarani river basin and associated SEA are progressing according to plan. This is good news for the communities around the lake, because the plan is now reaching the final phase.

Official SEA taskforce established - Kenya

Kenya is undertaking an ambitious endeavour towards more sustainable development by integrating SEA in county planning.This was boosted by the official establishment of a task force. The taskforce promotes the use of SEA by the counties and coordinates the development of specific guidelines.

New cooperation NCEA and Ministry of Foreign Affairs

We are pleased to announce the signing of a new 10-year cooperation agreement with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to the ministry, the NCEA's activities perfectly align with its greening objectives of the Dutch agenda for foreign trade and development, to which the NCEA can make a unique contribution.
