Introduction

What is the aim of EIA/SEA and how can it be applied? Many countries are interested in or already working with some sort of environmental assessment system. With this website, the Netherlands Commission on Environmental Assessment (NCEA) aims to inform interested parties abroad about EIA/SEA application and experiences in the Netherlands. This website has a couple of layers:

Below you will find brief answers to the general questions, mentioned on the left bar. In some cases, you may click on the link at the end of each text to view more elaborate information.
There is a Dutch website with elaborate information on EIA/SEA, the NCEA, legislation, projects, examples etc. This information is only available in the Dutch language.
The NCEA has a division that advises on EIA/SEA abroad. This division of the NCEA has a separate website, which also contains projects, information on legislation etc, in English. On this page, you find links to news sites on EIA/SEA in Spanish, Portuguese and French.

Because of the diversity in requested information, we had to make a selection. If this website does not give you the required information, feel free to contact the NCEA.
