New SEA land use planning in Kenya

Together with Mr Peter Odhengo who is initiating SEAs for delta planning in Kenya, Arend Kolhoff (NCEA) visited the Nyando Delta bordering Lake Victoria. This is the second SEA for Land Use Planning processes in Kenya in which the NCEA will become involved. We will advise in the scoping phase and inform the SEA team about international good practice, with a special focus on the ecosystem services valuation approach. 

During the same visit, the NCEA also attended the national SEA seminar, organised by NEMA and SIDA, in the framework of the Sida - NIRAS SEA training programme. At the seminar, the draft regulation on ESIA and SEA was discussed.
