Travelling by public transport:
From Schiphol Airport to Utrecht Central Station:
The best way to travel from Schiphol Airport to Utrecht is by train. Tickets can be purchased from the ticket office or vending machines at Schiphol station. Please be advised that, in the Netherlands, return tickets are valid for one day only. Trains to Utrecht run on two routes:
A direct line from Schiphol to Utrecht runs twice hourly. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes and will cost € 14,40 (second class) and € 24,40 (first class-return tickets March 2009)
On all other eastward-bound trains, you must change at Duivendrecht to any intercity bound for Nijmegen, Maastricht or Eindhoven.
At Utrecht Centraal there are local and regional busses, as well as taxis, to take you to your final destination.
From Utrecht Central Station to our offices:
The offices of the Netherlands Commission for Environmental Impact Assessment (Commissie m.e.r.) are situated at the Arthur van Schendelstraat 800, at a 10-minute walking distance from the railway station of Utrecht CS.
By taxi:
Leave Utrecht Central Station via exit Uitgang Taxi’s (signposted).
By bus:
Leave Utrecht Central Station via exit Uitgang Stadsbusstation (signposted). Bus no. 6 (stop at Nicolaas Beetsstraat).
On foot:
Leave Utrecht Central Station via exit Uitgang Streekbusstation (signposted). Walk past the bus station, walk straight along the Herman Gorterstraat. Cross the Nicolaas Beetsstraat and take the first street on your right. This is the Arthur van Schendelstraat. We are situated at number 800.
Travelling by car:
We have a parking garage in the building, however limited parking space is available. Please check with our receptionist first.
From Schiphol Airport:
- Take the A10 in the direction of Amsterdam/Amersfoort
- Before you enter Amsterdam you take the A2 (Utrecht/’s-Hertogenbosch)
- Take the exit marked “Centrum” (junction 8) at the “Ringweg West”/A2
- Follow the “Centrum” signs (Ds. Martin Luther Kinglaan/Weg der Verenigde Naties/ Graadt van Roggenweg, Railway tunnel, Daalsetunnel)
- After the “Daalsetunnel” (at roundabout Paardenveld) turn right into the “Catharijnebaan” (drive onto the tunnel-road)
- At the end of the tunnel-road make a right turn at the traffic lights (Nicolaas Beetsstraat)
- Take the second street on your left (Hartingstraat)
- Then take the first street on your right (Arthur van Schendelstraat).
From ’s-Hertogenbosch (=Den Bosch)/Amsterdam (motorway A2), approaching from both directions
- Take the exit marked “Centrum” (junction 8) at the “Ringweg West”/A2
- Follow the “Centrum” signs (Ds. Martin Luther Kinglaan/Weg der Verenigde Naties/ Graadt van Roggenweg, Railway tunnel, Daalsetunnel)
- After the “Daalsetunnel” (at roundabout Paardenveld) turn right into the “Catharijnebaan” (drive onto the tunnel-road)
- At the end of the tunnel-road make a right turn at the traffic lights (Nicolaas Beetsstraat)
- Take the second street on your left (Hartingstraat)
- Then take the first street on your right (Arthur van Schendelstraat).
From Den Haag/Rotterdam (motorway A12)
- At the traffic lights at “Oudenrijn” go to the “Ringweg West”/A2, in the direction of Amsterdam
- Take the exit marked “Centrum” (junction 8) at the “Ringweg West”/A2
- Follow the “Centrum” signs (Ds. Martin Luther Kinglaan/Weg der Verenigde Naties/ Graadt van Roggenweg, Railway tunnel, Daalsetunnel)
- After the “Daalsetunnel” (at roundabout Paardenveld) turn right into the “Catharijnebaan” (drive onto the tunnel-road)
- At the end of the tunnel-road make a right turn at the traffic lights (Nicolaas Beetsstraat)
- Take the second street on your left (Hartingstraat)
- Then take the first street on your right (Arthur van Schendelstraat).
From Arnhem (motorway A12)
- Take the exit “Kanaleneiland” (junction 17) at the “Ringweg Zuid”/A12
- Follow the “Centrum” signs (Europalaan, Den Oudenlaan)
- Take a right turn at the “Graadt van Roggenweg”
- Take the exit marked “Centrum” (junction 8) at the “Ringweg West”/A2
- Follow the “Centrum” signs (Ds. Martin Luther Kinglaan/Weg der Verenigde Naties/ Graadt van Roggenweg, Railway tunnel, Daalsetunnel)
- After the “Daalsetunnel” (at roundabout Paardenveld) turn right into the “Catharijnebaan” (drive onto the tunnel-road)
- At the end of the tunnel-road make a right turn at the traffic lights (Nicolaas Beetsstraat)
- Take the second street on your left (Hartingstraat)
- Then take the first street on your right (Arthur van Schendelstraat).
From Hilversum (motorway A27)
- At junction “Rijnsweerd” (at the “Ringweg Oost”/A27) take a right turn towards the A28
- Turn left at the end of the A28 (Waterlinieweg)
- Take the first exit (Stadion Galgenwaard)
- At the traffic lights at the end of the exit lane take a right turn (Rubenslaan)
- Go straight onto “Catharijnesingel”, than take a left turn
- Continue along the “Catharijnesingel” in the right lane
- Take a left turn at the second Traffic lights (Nicolaas Beetsstraat)
- Take the second street on your left (Hartingstraat)
- Then take the first street on your right (Arthur van Schendelstraat).
From Breda and Gorinchem (motorway A27)
- After the exit “Houten” take the parallel road before the A12 in the direction “Den Haag”
- Take the exit “Kanaleneiland” (junction 17) at the “Ringweg Zuid”/A12
- Follow the “Centrum” signs (Europalaan, Den Oudenlaan)
- Take a right turn at the “Graadt van Roggenweg”
- After the “Daalsetunnel” (at roundabout Paardenveld) turn right into the “Catharijnebaan” (drive onto the tunnel-road)
- At the end of the tunnel-road make a right turn at the traffic lights (Nicolaas Beetsstraat)
- Take the second street on your left (Hartingstraat)
- Then take the first street on your right (Arthur van Schendelstraat).
From Amersfoort (motorway A28)
- Approaching Utrecht from Amersfoort on the A28, drive towards the end of the motorway.
- Take a left turn at the end of the A28 (Waterlinieweg)
- Take the first exit (Stadion Galgenwaard)
- At the traffic lights at the end of the exit lane take a right turn (Rubenslaan)
- Go straight onto “Catharijnesingel”, than take a left turn
- Continue along the “Catharijnesingel” in the right lane
- Take a left turn at the second Traffic lights (Nicolaas Beetsstraat)
- Take the second street on your left (Hartingstraat)
- Then take the first street on your right (Arthur van Schendelstraat).
